On Saturday, June 7, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Lone Star College System Small Business Development Center and Lone Star College-North Harris’ Entrepreneurial Institute will host a one-day seminar designed for anyone interested in opening, owning and operating their own business. The Entrepreneurial Venture: “Facts You Need to Know to Start and Operate Your Own Business,” will include informative sessions covering topics such as getting started, finding the right business, securing financing, keeping your money, marketing, employing others to maximize profits, employee benefits and creating a business plan. The day’s events will conclude with an “ask the experts” panel discussion comprised of local business owners who will share their experiences and what they did that resulted in their successes. This will be an interactive workshop to facilitate a “nuts and bolts” understanding of what is needed to be a successful entrepreneur.
Keynote speaker, Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale will open the day’s seminar. McIngvale, whose reputation as a dynamic and successful business man, will provide insight, information, and energy to all aspiring entrepreneurs.
The Entrepreneurial Venture event will be at the LSC-North Harris campus located at 2700 W.W. Thorne Drive, in the college’s Continuing Education Building, room CE-101.
