This test is given to those who prefer a pencil and paper ESL test. Placement test for students who English is their second language. For test dates and registration please see an ESL advisor located in the International Admissions Office, Academic Building, room 104AB or call 281.618.5716. Approximately 3 hours is needed to take the test. A photo ID and registration form with the student’s identification number or Social Security # is required for testing.
The Comprehensive English Test (CELT) is given to those students whose native language is not English. In order to provide you with the best opportunity to achieve your academic or vocational goals and to place you in the proper English, academic or technical courses, it will be necessary for you to take the CELT test. The CELT test includes listening, structure and vocabulary skills. A departmental writing sample is also given to determine final placement.
