Promotes international exchange for students and faculty and facilitates other work and volunteer opportunities.
- Houston World Affairs Council (HWAC)
Web site of a local organization of 3000 members concerned about world affairs and U.S. foreign policy. Activities include programs, travel, educational outreach activities, great discussions series and more.
- Institute of International Education (IIE)
Administers the Fulbright Program and promotes study abroad and educational exchange. Site includes links to some of IIE's publications.
- International Studies Association
Promotes the study of international affairs. Web page includes links to archives of conference papers and a Directory of Internet Resources.
- NAFSA: Association of International Educators
Includes links to U.S. International Education policy, statistics, and information about professional development opportunities such as workshops on countries and cultures.
- National Association of Self-Instructional Language Programs (NASILP) During the International Education grant years, Lone Star College-North Harris will work with this organization to set up instruction in Vietnamese, Mandarin Chinese, Arabic and Japanese.
- Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research (SIETAR-USA)
Information on annual conference and membership details. Links to SIETAR affiliates around the world, including SIETARHouston, with announcement of local programs on intercultural topics.
