Articulation to Professional Nursing -LVN/Paramedic to RN Bridge Track

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Associate Degree Nursing Track for Articulating Students (for current LVNs and Paramedics) is a three semester course of study that prepares graduates to take the state licensure examination for registered nurses and receive an Associate of Applied Science Degree. The ADN program is accredited by the Board of Nurse Examiners (BNE) for the State of Texas and by the National League for Nursing.

The Track for Articulating Students format includes one summer session, entry into upper level nursing courses, and a role transition seminar in the final semester. Students are admitted in April and will begin their three semesters of coursework in June. Seventy students will be admitted each summer: 30 at Lone Star College-Kingwood, 30 at Lone Star College-North Harris, 30 at Lone Star College-Montgomery and 10 at Lone Star College-Tomball.

The Transition/Articulation Track program is a full-time, day program. You will be in class/skills labs twice a week for approximately 4 hours per day between 8 a.m.-2 p.m. You will also practice your skills in a hospital for either a one day 10 hour clinical, or a two day clinical for 5 hours each day. Most clinicals are in the day but some are scheduled at night based on hospital availability. We can not guarantee which class, lab or clinical times, days will be available when you register. Lastly, you will have computerized exams on Friday mornings until ~12 p.m. Studying and projects require an additional time commitment.
