Immunizations
All students in health occupation courses who will be in direct patient contact are required to have documented evidence of current immunizations against a range of diseases and must pass an annual tuberculosis screening before beginning their clinical experience. Once accepted into the program, students must present documentation to verify their coverage.
The Hepatitis B vaccine is given in three separate doses over a two- to six-month period. The series must be completed before any student is allowed to participate in a clinical class. As this requirement is now state law, no exceptions can or will be made.
